How did Wall Street create the economic collapse for their own profits before anyone noticed? Why does a country as rich as the US not have enough homes for its people? What if the economy was designed to keep people poor? What role does systemic racism play in the current housing market?
Join us for a free training this Sunday to explore the answers to these questions and more!
The "Communities Under Attack!" workshop is part of a series on land and housing. In this workshop we’ll focus on the relationship between land and capital - how it is that “stuff,” like land, becomes a commodity? We'll develop an understanding of the fundamental contradiction of working people lacking control over land under capitalism.
We’ll provide you with the basics you need to understand how land became a commodity and introduce the importance of a vision for community control over land in order to prevent homelessness, end the foreclosure crisis, and create institutions that push land back into the hands of people rather than corporations!
Brought to you by Occupy Homes MN, the Right To The City Alliance, and the Homes For All campaign.
